WHAT FANS YOUR FLAME?

Passion. It’s a fun word we like to be associated with. Dictionary.com defines being passionate as, “compelled by, or ruled by intense emotion or strong feeling.” I want to be passionately compelled by the Gospel, how about you? Oftentimes, however, it’s easier said than done. I believe that’s why the Apostle Paul tells his protégée Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:6 to “…fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you…” The flame has to be fanned. So that begs the question – what fans your flame? What gets your blood pumping and your heart racing?

A few months ago my sister introduced me to the Oola Guys. She’s a big fan of Young Living essential oils and they have a partnership with them. The Oola Guys go around the world collecting dreams in a 1970 Volkswagon Van, how cool is that? They inspire people to live an “o-la-la” kind of life. They focus on 7 F’s: faith, family, friends, fun, fitness, finance, field (career). Their approach has helped me immensely. It helps you find out where you’re killing it and where you’re slacking. You can take their free test here:  http://www.oolalife.com/step1 -- I mean, who says you can’t be firing on all cylinders while not living exasperated but on the contrary being full of joy and kindness. I believe it’s extremely imperative that we figure out what we’re passionate about and do our best to bring God glory with the gifts He’s given us.

So, with all that being said – I’ve decided to revive this blog and invite some of my dearest friends to write on topics they’re passionate about. I thought hey, why not us? So here we go.

What’s one of the biggest ways we can actively fan our flame? Talk about it with like minded, encouraging friends. We have to remind ourselves sometimes of what we're passionate about. What you don’t want to happen is to think you’re on fire for God when in reality you’re just feeling the heat from everyone around you. Fan your flame, run your race, encourage others. Find your tribe, find your niche, enjoy life and most importantly – enjoy Jesus! Hope you can find some inspiration here. If there’s something in specific you’d like to see addressed, feel free to drop me a line. Do people still say that? Just did.

Keep Pressing,
Rachel
