THE GIFT OF GRACE

I know we're all busy with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Nevertheless, you've found a few minutes to scan this blog. So, today, I just want to leave you with one quick thought:

Are you revealing Jesus properly?
Let's look at this portion of Scripture from the Christmas story and discover some truths we can cling to.

but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. - Luke 2:10

Keep these things in mind as you seek to reveal Jesus this holiday season:

Fear Not: Jesus + Nothing = Everything. When He's in your corner, there is no need to fear. Death has been defeated by love. The Victory has been won. You are an overcomer and more than a conqueror. Nothing you've done can disqualify you from embracing His love and forgiveness.

Good News: The Gospel is good news and should be proclaimed as such. It's not good news mixed with some bad, no it's good news. What makes this news so good? It has far more to do with Him than it does with you. It's never been about how bad you are, it's always been about how good He is.

Great Joy: Our love for God is actually a response to revelation of His love for us. Great joy comes from the wonder and awe of His faithfulness. You can't fake joy. It comes from the depths of your soul. Joy doesn't mean walking around with a big smile all the time or attempting to look happy 24/7. It's an emotional disposition of saying, "none of these things move me. I'm anchored and not shaken." I'm not going to let my circumstances determine my faith. I can let my faith determine my circumstances.

For All People: Aren't you glad this Gospel is for the whosoevers like me and you? Jesus can meet you whenever, wherever, with whoever, forever. His love has no bounds. His grace is scandalous. Salvation in Jesus is absolutely the greatest gift.

Merry Christmas!
