DRESS TO IMPRESS

Let’s be honest--
When you look good… you feel good.

I think we should put some thought into what we are wearing.

This is what you should put on…

1 HUMILITY
“Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5 ESV
“Is it anointing or arrogance on our platforms? Do we want a puffing or a filling? One mocks the other! - @BethMooreLPM

“True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.” - @CSLewis

“If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are.” - @MotherTeresa

Humility never goes out of style. It looks good on anyone. And everyone compliments you for rocking it.

2 GRATITUDE

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.” 1 Thess. 5:18 MSG

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life, it turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, and confusion to clarity. It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. It can turn an existence into a real life, and disconnected situations into important and beneficial lessons. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. -  Melodie Beattie

“Gratitude is glue. It strengthens relationships, binds a broken heart and fixes a broken perspective. It’s the language of worship.” - @thomasgateway

3 PRAISE
“Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” Ps. 103:1-2 NLT
PRAISE: shifts the atmosphere, fulfills our purpose, empowers us, restores order, crucifies our pride, and attracts God’s presence.
Praise online and offline, in public and in private, in season and off season, in trials and triumphs.

When your level of complaining is at an all-time high it could mean your level of praise is at an all-time low.
So friend, shoot up those hands, make that stank face, sing off key IF the music is loud enough to drown you out… and PRAISE God like He deserves to be praised! Until He opens the next door for you, praise Him in the hallway.
Don’t resent the preparation process. God is preparing IN you what He has prepared FOR you.

4 HONOR
“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. (Or sisterhood #girlpower) Fear God. Honor the king.” –
1 Pet. 2:17

hon·or /ˈɒnhttp://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.pngər/ [on-er] noun
1. Honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions
2. A source of credit or distinction
3. High respect, as for worth, merit, or rank
4. Such respect manifested
5. High public esteem; fame; glory

Honor leads to a long, full life. That’s Bible! NOT FLATTERY, but honor. Be mindful of those who paved the way. We benefit from the lessons others learned at a great expense.

“You are always standing on someone else’s shoulders, what you don’t want to do is crush the head of the shoulders you’re standing on.” - @judahsmith

“Honor is the currency of elevation.” - @realjohngray

“Affirmation is the friend of honor and respect.” - @gf_watkins
5 JOY
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” – Ps. 16:11 ESV

If the joy of the Lord is our strength, then Christians should be STRONG. Jesus had more joy than all His companions. Cc: Neh.8:10 & Heb.1:9.
You don’t have to have the coolest clothes in the world… joy is something you can’t buy at Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, or Forever 21 – it’s found in HIS PRESENCE.
Joy is like Chucks ^^.  Looks good on anyone and everyone! Do you BABY do you!

6 FAITHFULNESS

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” – Luke 16:10 NIV
“Dig deep in faithfulness, to be propelled high in opportunity.” - @BrianCHouston
Being where God wants you to be is more important than being where you want to be. There is something wrong with your CHARACTER if opportunity controls your LOYALTY.
^^ Said every girl, ever. #amen

7 LOVE
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” – Col. 3:14 ESV
What is love? Baby don’t hurt me (insert head bob)
"We have a stance on love, and everything else, we have conversations." - @carllentzNYC
Filter everything through the nature and character of God. LOVE. When life is filtered that way, it changes our perspective to think the way JESUS thought about life and others.
Contrary to what Beyoncé said, you don’t wake up with this… you have to put it on. DAILY.

Life is short. Buy the shoes. xo
